Social Media And Marketing Recruitment Intern

This summer internship is for up to 13 weeks, starting from the first day of the internship and ending no later than September 4, 2026. Interns are expected to work 35 hours per week in person. The intern will assist in the creative process of making and editing recruitment videos for the Agency's social media channels and branding, graphic design for logos, and marketing materials. They will also assist with creating promotional content and materials for online and print ads for open positions for the Agency, planning, organizing, and executing of NYC Department of Buildings job fairs, and recruitment events. They will attend job fairs and recruitment events and research and assess social and workforce trends to support the implementation of the Agency's branding and recruitment strategies.

Major/Field of Study: Graphic Design, Marketing, Film, Video Production, Media Arts, Photography, Communications, Media Studies, Advertising, Branding, and Public Relations. Portfolio required if selected for an interview.

Minimum Qualifications: As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year). Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.

Preferred Skills: Strong interest in social media, content creation, and storytelling. Comfortable in design software like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Understanding design principles, and demonstrating creativity and adaptability. Comfortable using a camera for both video and photography. Basic knowledge of film editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and other relevant programs (e.g., After Effects). Creative thinker who isn't afraid to pitch ideas. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is strongly preferred. Familiarity with lighting equipment and audio recording devices.

Residency Requirement: This internship does not require residency in a specific location however, interns must report to the work site in person.
