Midweight Designer

Join our creative team as a Midweight Designer! We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in design. Whether your passion lies in Data Visualisation, making complex health data accessible and beautiful, or in Designing for Motion, where you'll build visual narratives through storyboarding and asset creation for dynamic animation and social content – we have a place for your unique talent.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our entire client portfolio, from pharma giants to innovative health tech startups, translating intricate health and scientific data into engaging and accessible visual experiences. You'll be instrumental in shaping how we communicate critical information, making a real difference in healthcare.

What You'll Do

  1. Work closely with strategists, medical writers, art directors, and account teams to conceptualise and develop innovative visual solutions for diverse healthcare campaigns and projects.
  2. Develop visual narratives that simplify complex information, making it digestible and memorable for various audiences, from healthcare professionals to patients and the public.
  3. Embrace our strong design philosophy in the communication of scientific data and information and help evolve it.
  4. Ensure all data visualisations align with client brand guidelines and Ogilvy's high creative standards, maintaining consistency and quality across all outputs.
  5. Utilise a range of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and potentially After Effects/Figma) to bring your designs to life.
  6. Stay abreast of the latest trends in data visualisation, design, and healthcare communications, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the team.
  7. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, present your design concepts internally and to clients, and iterate based on feedback.

What You'll Need

  • Professional design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a clear specialisation and passion for data visualisation and information design. Experience within a creative agency, healthcare, or a data-heavy industry is highly advantageous.
  • An exceptional eye for detail, typography, colour, and layout, with a proven ability to create clean, modern, and effective visual communications.
  • Expert-level command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop are essential). Familiarity with motion graphics (After Effects) or interactive design tools (Figma) is a plus.
  • Ability to understand complex briefs, distil key information, and develop creative concepts that effectively communicate the message.
  • A natural curiosity and ability to approach data challenges with a creative and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating design choices and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work efficiently under pressure, and adapt to evolving client needs and deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in the healthcare sector and a desire to contribute to meaningful communications that impact health outcomes.

Benefits & Culture

At Ogilvy Health, you'll be part of a non-hierarchical, eclectic team united by a shared commitment to doing the best work of our lives (its one of our values!). Beyond client work, you'll have opportunities to engage with our vibrant culture and social teams, and contribute to our fantastic DEI initiatives, championing diversity across our agency and industry.

We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:

  • 25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase up to an extra 5 days per year, plus your birthday off and a paid volunteering day
  • Generous enhanced parental leave policies
  • A robust pension scheme (up to 17.5% total contributions after probation)
  • Choice of Private Medical Cover (Bupa from day one), Dental cover, or a monthly £45 leisure allowance for your health & wellbeing
  • A fantastic Employee Assistance Programme (Telus) offering support, advice, and specialist counselling
  • Help at Hand: quick, free access to a remote GP, mental health support, physio, or a medical second opinion
  • Free 1-2-1 Coaching through Thrive Partners for professional or personal growth
  • A comprehensive Learning & Development programme to support your career trajectory

Our ambition is to attract the very best diverse talent to Ogilvy, and to be the employer of choice in the UK. We want everyone to feel welcome when they join us, and once they're here, for them to want to stay with us, grow their career, and to feel they belong with us.

We are an equal opportunity employer and we're committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone who wants to work at Ogilvy. For us, diversity, equity and inclusion is integrated into everything that we do. We believe that for creativity to flourish, everything about how we work must have diversity at its core. We aim to facilitate an accessible and positive application experience for all candidates. If you require any adjustments from us to support you through the process or expect to require any adjustments to working conditions to be able to best perform in the role, please let us know. We are happy to consider all reasonable adjustments.
