We're seeking a Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Growth to craft and execute breakthrough strategies that engage new and existing donors and grow our global impact. Ideally suited for a dynamic and visionary marketing and communications executive, this role is responsible for shaping and leading a bold, unifying brand and marketing vision that elevates Unbound's voice, inspires generosity, and grows a global community of supporters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a long-term, integrated brand and marketing strategy rooted in Unbound's mission and values.
  • Drive growth through innovative GTM campaigns across advertising, PR, digital, social, and content channels.
  • Oversee and optimize performance of digital acquisition strategies in partnership with external media agencies.
  • Advance brand architecture, content strategy, and donor engagement efforts to ensure clarity, consistency, and inspiration across all touchpoints.
  • Inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team of marketers, creatives, and media professionals.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability rooted in mission.
  • Collaborate across departments—Philanthropy, Product, International Programs, Donor Experience—to ensure cohesive brand and campaign execution.
  • Serve as a visible and values-driven leader, aligning stakeholders around a unified brand story and shared growth goals.
  • Enhance marketing effectiveness through data-driven strategies, analytics, and personalization.
  • Champion AI and marketing tech solutions that scale impact and optimize donor experiences.
  • Implement tools and processes to support agile planning, performance tracking, and strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee narrative strategy and creative direction for external communications.
  • Ensure stories are ethically sourced, emotionally resonant, and aligned with Unbound's voice and values.
  • Guide editorial calendars and creative development to amplify the voices of those we serve.
  • Elevate Unbound's visibility and thought leadership through strategic PR and media engagement.
  • Lead proactive media efforts, executive positioning, and crisis communications in alignment with Unbound's mission.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' progressive experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in integrated marketing leadership roles.
  • Experience working in nonprofit or donor-driven organizations, with a background in international development or global nonprofit work strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-year, organization-wide, comprehensive campaigns that align brand, fundraising, and engagement strategies across teams and channels.
  • Familiarity with marketing to high-net-worth donors and tailoring strategies to communicate impact and alignment.
  • Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver, fluent in donor-centric, full-funnel marketing.
  • A growth-oriented leader with a track record of delivering measurable results in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and the ability to work strategically with all levels of an organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%; primarily domestic, but periodic trips abroad.
