Lead Product Solutions Architect
The Lead Product Solutions Architect (Lead PSA) serves as the strategic bridge between business vision and technical execution for the HIVE enterprise data and analytics platform. This role exists to ensure that every solution—whether a data pipeline, analytic dashboard, AI model, or integrated workflow—is designed with scalability, governance, and business value at its core.
Acting as both architect and advisor, the Lead PSA partners with business leaders to understand their goals, translates them into future-proof technical designs, and ensures solutions are delivered efficiently on the Databricks Lakehouse, Azure, and other enterprise platforms. This position drives the creation of data products that not only meet immediate needs but also enhance trust, quality, and insight generation across the organization.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Leading the design of end-to-end data products leveraging the Databricks Lakehouse, Azure Data Lake (bronze/silver/gold layers), and related analytics tools.
- Translating business objectives into technical designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Serving as the primary escalation point for complex or cross-domain solutions that require executive-level engagement and prioritization.
- Collaborating with the Platform Leads and Senior Product Manager to ensure solution designs are executable within agreed timelines, budgets, and resourcing plans.
Responsibilities also include:
- Partnering with other Product Managers and business stakeholders during ideation, roadmap planning, and intake to ensure solutions are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Facilitating workshops and discovery sessions to define requirements, success criteria, and criticality levels for products.
- Advocating for HIVE adoption by demonstrating platform capabilities and communicating value to senior business leaders.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Enforcing governance and best practices, including data terms, schema, and reference data; data catalog & business glossary; master data management (MDM); and metadata & lineage tracking.
- Ensuring adherence to file organization structures within the lake (bronze, silver, gold layers) to maintain quality, accessibility, and scalability.
- Driving data quality processes and partnering with the Governance Lead to monitor compliance with standards and policies.
Leadership & Enablement responsibilities include:
- Mentoring Product Solutions Architects across business domains, promoting consistency in design and delivery approaches.
- Championing continuous improvement and innovation within the PSA practice, including reusable design patterns and accelerators.
- Supporting cross-team knowledge sharing through documentation, showcases, and collaboration tools.
Educational experience required includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in a related field or MBA is preferred.
Work experience required includes:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, IoT systems, or product management with a focus on operational data.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector or a similarly complex, data-rich industry is highly desirable.
Qualifications include:
- Depth of knowledge regarding SCADA systems, IoT data ingestion, and industrial networking protocols (e.g. Modbus, DNP3, MQTT).
- Expertise in python and SQL, Databricks Lakehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure DevOps, and enterprise BI/AI platforms.
- Strong understanding of IoT authentication, networking and authorization (PKI, X.509, mutual TLS).
- Familiarity with distributed data platforms (e.g. Spark, Databricks, Kafka) and time-series databases (e.g. InfluxDB & TimescaleDB).
- Working knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to energy operations, particularly NERC CIP and SOC 2.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
- Experience working in Agile environments and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to translate business challenges into scalable, governed data solutions and product frameworks.
Technical skills include:
- Expertise in Product Lifecycle Management, Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies, Azure DevOps, python, and SQL.
- Proficient with Backlog grooming, KPI tracking, SharePoint, data governance and quality frameworks.
- Experience/Exposure to Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Microsoft Purview, LucidChart/Spark, Monday.com, Azure Synapse, Azure Event Hubs, iPaaS, Boomi, MQTT brokers, Modbus TCP, X.509 PKI, NERC CIP, SOC 2, Python, SQL.

This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern's compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels. In addition to your Base Salary, you may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus as determined by Pattern Energy. This potential discretionary bonus may range from zero to 35% of your base salary for the previous year, and the decision to award a bonus, as well as the amount, are subject to the sole discretion of Pattern Energy's Chief Executive Officer. In rare circumstances, it is also possible that you may be awarded a bonus above 35% of your base salary for the previous year. To receive any bonus, you must be an active employee of Pattern Energy in good standing on the day the bonus is paid.
