Product Manager Fusion Mold & Die Machining
Autodesk has fully reimagined the Design and Manufacturing business for the digital automation age, enabling companies to address the most important challenges they face today while preparing for new ways of working in the future. The Autodesk Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions (PDMS) portfolio connects the top floor to the shop floor and supply chain so customers can move seamlessly through each phase of a product's development lifecycle — from design and validation to production engineering, manufacturing execution, and operation — with a best-in-class Fusion Industry Cloud platform and market-leading specialist products.
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Management for Fusion Manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of the Fusion Mold & Die Machining solution. Mold and die manufacturing is critical to the current and future growth of Fusion, characterised by demanding customers, complex parts, and the daily commercial reality of "first-time-right". You will lead the strategy for high-end 3-axis and 5-axis machining — including advanced roughing, finishing, and collision-avoidance workflows — partner closely with engineering teams and key machining-technology partners, and serve as the strategic voice for Mold & Die customers at executive and customer-advisory level.
We are a hybrid-first workplace. You'll work with teammates across the globe and travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face meetings like conferences, team offsites, and customers. The role is based in Germany, with our main office in Munich and additional Autodesk offices in other German cities.
We are open to a range of seniority for this role. Depending on your experience, we will align the final title and level at offer.
Responsibilities
- Own and shape the product strategy and roadmap for the Fusion Mold & Die Machining solution — 3-axis and 5-axis core, roughing, finishing, and collision avoidance
- Define objectives and initiatives by embracing a customer-centric approach, focusing on business value and partnering with development teams to deliver innovative capabilities
- Carry the customer voice for Mold & Die into roadmap decisions — lead customer references, customer-advisory engagements, and shop-floor validation
- Drive the balance between tactical and strategic priorities — toolpath quality and performance alongside longer-term technical investments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with machining-engine and machining-technology partners
- Partner with the Autodesk Technology Centers — primarily Birmingham (UK), with access to Boston and San Francisco (US) — to explore and validate machining strategies on their portfolio of high-end CNC machines
- Collaborate with our Fusion Design, Fusion Operations, and Fusion Manage teams to streamline mold and die workflows across the entire process chain
- Communicate status and deliverables to stakeholders, customers, sales, and marketing; lead reviews, monthly updates, and customer-facing webinars
- Engage and communicate actively with the Fusion community
Minimum Qualifications
- Deep CAM / machining domain expertise, with a meaningful share of that experience in the mold and die industry — cavity, core, electrode, complex parts
- High-end 3-axis and 5-axis machining fluency — you hold substantive conversations with factory leaders, CAM programmers, machinists, tool- and machine providers, and industry experts, and bring genuine credibility on the shop floor
- Familiarity with the specialist CAM systems used in mold and die shops, with credibility on how customers select, use, and stay with them
- Customer-facing track record — leading customer references, advisory engagements, or strategic accounts; comfortable on a shop floor
- Cross-functional product or product-adjacent leadership — as PM, Application Engineer, Technical Product Lead, or Senior Pre-Sales Engineer — with a track record of shaping product direction
- Vendor / partner management experience with technology partners (machining-engine, machine-tool, post-processor)
- Excellent verbal and written English; comfortable moving between executive narrative and engineering technical depth
- Ability to work with teams distributed across multiple locations and time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Product Management experience in a CAD / CAM / PLM company or similar domain
- Hands-on programming and validation of machining programs on the shop floor
- Understanding of the underlying technologies that power commercial CAM systems
- Deep expertise in the manufacturing industry community, reseller channels, and major industry events
- Mechanical or manufacturing engineering degree
- Familiarity with modern product-development methodologies
We are looking for a domain expert with the ambition to grow into an AI-first Product Manager. You will bring deep mold-and-die credibility from day one, and you will visibly expand your PM craft into AI-leveraged territory over the course of the role — working day-to-day with modern AI assistants and the Autodesk Assistant for Manufacturing across discovery, specification, and operations, alongside AI-fluent PM peers. Apply if you bring the domain depth and a strong ambition to grow into an AI-first PM role.
