User Experience Designer

At Autodesk, our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Platform Data team is focused on shaping the future of how customers access, manage, and unlock value from their data across the project and asset lifecycle. We design the APIs, services, and user interfaces that power Autodesk's data platform ecosystem and enable critical AEC workflows.

As a User Experience Designer you will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, User Research, and Design partners to help create intuitive, scalable, and connected platform experiences. You will contribute to the design of workflows and interfaces that help customers and developers interact with project and asset data across Autodesk's ecosystem.

We are looking for a designer who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow in technically complex environments. This designer must be passionate about crafting world-class platform experiences in technically complex and ambiguous problem spaces.

For consideration, candidates must include both a resume + portfolio with password when applying.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers to support the delivery of thoughtful user experiences from concept through implementation
  • Design workflows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that communicate interaction and visual design ideas clearly to stakeholders and development teams
  • Participate in user research activities including interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions to better understand customer needs and workflows
  • Apply user-centered design methods to solve complex workflow and data management challenges
  • Contribute to design critiques, brainstorming sessions, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration activities
  • Help ensure alignment and consistency across platform experiences by leveraging and contributing to Autodesk design systems and standards
  • Iterate quickly on concepts and designs based on user feedback, technical constraints, and business priorities
  • Communicate design rationale and present work effectively to peers and stakeholders
  • Partner with senior designers and cross-functional teams to refine experiences and improve usability across products and services
  • Stay informed about evolving UX patterns, interface trends, AI-enabled workflows, and emerging technologies relevant to platform and data experiences

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in user experience, interaction design, product design, or related fields
  • Experience designing digital products, workflows, or interfaces for web, desktop, or platform-based applications
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles and common UX methodologies
  • Ability to create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and visual design artifacts using industry-standard design tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in solving complex workflow and data-oriented design challenges
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Portfolio demonstrating UX and interaction design work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing B2B, SaaS, or technically complex applications
  • Familiarity with AEC workflows, BIM concepts, or Autodesk products such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Forma
  • Exposure to data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, or platform ecosystems
  • Experience supporting or participating in user research and usability testing
  • Understanding of responsive design systems and accessibility best practices
  • Interest in AI-supported tools, automation, or emerging platform technologies
  • Experience working in cross-functional product development environments

The Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about creating intuitive experiences that help customers solve real-world problems
  • Curious and motivated to learn from users, teammates, and feedback
  • Comfortable working in evolving and occasionally ambiguous problem spaces
  • Collaborative and open-minded, with a positive and growth-oriented mindset
  • Thoughtful about balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Excited to contribute to platform-scale experiences and connected ecosystems
  • Proactive in asking questions, sharing ideas, and improving the quality of the work around them
  • Interested in growing their craft alongside a supportive and experienced design team
