Marketing Communications Specialist

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for creating corporate communications and marketing materials for Wholestone Prestage and its producer-owners, internal and employment programs. This position works closely with all business units and plays an important role in external and internal communications along with the development and execution of creative concepts for all marketing platforms.

Education, Licensure and Experience:

· Bachelor's or advanced degree in marketing, design, communications, journalism, or similar field required.

· Experience in marketing, with protein or agriculture related industry preferred.

· Knowledge of agriculture and the pork industry is preferred.

· Experience with social media marketing.

· Understanding of digital marketing.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong creative and design skills preferred.

· Ability to interact and effectively communicate with producer-owners, senior management, team members, media, and industry stakeholders.

· Excellent written, listening, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to create presentations and marketing materials.

· Must be a strong self-starter adept at independent problem-solving.

· Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a fast paced and changing work environment.

· Exceptional planning and time management skills.

· Must be able and willing to travel.

· Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Power Point, Excel, and Word.

· Competent with Canva, Adobe, and/or other creative suites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Please note: This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. 1. Assists in implementation of strategies in support of company vision, mission, and objectives.

2. Contributes to the Company's integrated marketing program.

3. Works with external sources on creative, marketing, and public relations.

4. Assists in creative and strategy for company digital and social media.

5. Responsible for internal communications across all channels regarding employment events, announcements, programs and promotions.

6. Responsible for the management of internal company brand merchandise store

7. Provides support with key meetings, presentations, tradeshows, and industry events.

8. Markets intelligence of industry activities to provide insight and direction.

9. Assists in supporting sales team with required materials and promotion.

10. Assists with the implementation of corporate communications strategy and budget related to external and internal audiences.

11. Facilitates communication strategies in collaboration with other departments.

12. Becomes a marketing liaison with all departments to provide marketing and corporate communications.

13. Responsible for consistency of employment brand and ensures the creative brand guide is followed.

14. Be a liaison for internal and external community relations activities, donations, and requests including the management and reporting of costs and expenditures associated.

15. Involved with managing marketing budget, spend and ROI.

16. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Language Skills – (Bilingual preferred, but not required)

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the language of the majority cultural group in order to communicate effectively. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as grafts/flow sheets, financials, general professional articles and publications, governmental regulations, safety rules, assignment sheets, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures, and other administrative forms as outlined above.

Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings. Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.

Mathematical Skills:

In order to perform duties, must be able to:

1. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages.

2. Compute rate, discounts, ratios, and percents

3. Make, read and interpret financials, graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense and judgment in solving problems and interpreting and understanding instructions furnished in written or oral form. Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action yet reason when to involve supervisor.

Computer Skills:

Intermediate computer knowledge with the ability to learn software. Experience with applications required to create and publish projects and material targeted for social media platforms and digital marketing.

Other Skills and Abilities:

1. Display strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal with frequent interruptions.

2. Basic office skills such as phone skills, voice mail, copying, scanning, typing, and interaction with visitors.

3. Ability to function independently given assigned duties.

4. Ability to communicate, work, and interact with a variety of individuals.
