This evergreen posting is designed to attract experienced Sales & Marketing leaders and sellers—including Directors of Sales & Marketing (DOSM), Directors of Sales (DOS), Senior Sales Managers, Sales Managers, and Group Sales Managers—who can support hotels and resorts during transitions, openings, staffing gaps, leadership vacancies, or periods of heightened demand.
Assignments may range from hands-on selling roles to full departmental oversight, depending on property needs. Candidates should be adaptable, commercially minded, and capable of making an immediate impact on revenue, client relationships, and sales team stability.
Primary Focus of Task Force Assignments
- Provide immediate continuity across Sales & Marketing functions during interim periods.
- Support or lead the sales team with clear priorities, structure, and accountability.
- Maintain and advance group, corporate, association, wholesale, leisure, golf, and event pipelines.
- Actively participate in client outreach, key account engagement, site inspections, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to protect rate integrity and drive short-term revenue opportunities.
- Serve as a commercial support resource for property leadership, ownership groups, and brand partners during the assignment.
- Assist with messaging, positioning, and client communication during renovations or transitional phases.
- Ensure a smooth handoff and transition plan for the next permanent leader or incoming team member.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Sales Execution
- Oversee or support daily Sales & Marketing operations with a hands-on approach aligned to role level.
- Execute existing sales strategies while identifying new opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key accounts, third-party planners, and industry partners.
- Conduct key sales calls, presentations, proposals, and site inspections to drive near-term business.
Pipeline, Forecasting & Reporting
- Support or lead forecasting, pacing reviews, account deployment, and business mix analysis.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to evaluate short-term market trends and adjust strategy as needed.
- Uphold CRM discipline (Delphi, CI/TY, Delphi.fdc, or equivalent) and ensure accurate data and reporting.
Client Experience & Market Engagement
- Represent the hotel professionally with clients, owners, brand teams, and community partners.
- Support communication and service recovery for key accounts or high-profile programs.
- Maintain alignment between sales, conference services, revenue, and operations to ensure flawless handoff and execution.
Team Support & Organizational Stability
- Provide structure, coaching, or daily oversight for sales team members during transitions.
- Ensure departmental organization, documentation, and clarity for seamless continuity post-assignment.
- Contribute to a positive culture by modeling professionalism, responsiveness, and collaboration.
Ideal Task Force Profile
- Experience in hotel sales, including leadership roles (DOSM/DOS) or selling roles (Senior SM, SM, Group SM).
- Strong understanding of group sales, corporate negotiations, business travel, event contracting, and business development.
- Familiarity with forecasting, market intelligence tools (like STR), and revenue management collaboration.
- Proficiency in hospitality CRM systems (Delphi, CI/TY, Envision, Delphi.fdc, or comparable platforms).
- Ability to adapt quickly, build relationships fast, and create impact within short-term assignments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and client-service skills across all commercial levels.
- Confident, decisive leader who can balance strategy with execution.
- Comfortable operating with ownership visibility and executive-level communication.
- Experienced in managing teams through change, renovation, or leadership gaps.
- Highly adaptable, organized, and solutions-oriented.
Employment Status & Benefits
Task Force roles are classified as temporary, full-time positions. Temporary employees are not eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, or bonus programs.
Compensation
Task Force assignments are compensated on a weekly rate basis and paid biweekly or in accordance with the property's payroll schedule. Compensation is determined based on role level, scope, location, and assignment complexity. The pay range for this position is $1,500–$2,500 per week, depending on assignment level. Actual compensation will be confirmed at the time of assignment.
