The Role

We're looking for an accomplished and well-rounded Senior Product Manager (SPM) with experience building insurance platforms and expertise with policy lifecycle process and integrations, data modeling, pricing and underwriting to join our Quanata Product Team. Product Managers at Quanata have two core functions: Product Vision & Strategy and Driving Meaningful Business Outcomes. They are accountable for leading empowered, cross-functional teams to solve significant customer and business problems. Product Managers are expected to spend in excess of 80% of their time delivering against these two functions, which are expressed through core product management skills and knowledge areas and evidenced by the successful achievement of measurable outcomes.

Your Day-To-Day

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Data Science, and domain leads on detailed, complex requirements, bringing a solid technical understanding to every discussion.
  • Product Discovery: Navigate high-ambiguity discovery across multiple workstreams; masters advanced qualitative and quantitative frameworks to disprove assumptions early and pivot the team toward the highest-value opportunities.
  • Agile Product Delivery: Manage scope, balance trade-offs, define goals, set priorities, and oversee the feature backlog from story creation through acceptance across Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Build vs. Buy Evaluation: Evaluate off-the-shelf solutions and make well-reasoned build vs. buy recommendations to optimize delivery and cost.
  • Delivery Coordination: Facilitate development efforts, timelines, and deliverables across product owners, project managers, program managers, and scrum masters.
  • Technical Guidance: Drive technical design discussions, understand dependencies, and communicate requirements to your team while weighing performance, scalability, and security implications.
  • Tactical Prioritization: Set day-to-day priorities for your team, ensuring execution stays tightly aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Make and communicate decisions based on data and evidence, championing a culture of measurement and data collection within your team.
  • Strategic Communication: Communicate strategy, priorities, and the product roadmap to all relevant participants and stakeholders.
  • Architectural Quality: Work with multidisciplinary teams to prototype, test, learn, and deliver architecturally sound products and services.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience OR equivalent relevant experience and;
  • 6-8 years of experience of product management building B2C and B2B insurance products and services for a large carrier or insurtech.
  • Proven experience working directly with engineering, design and QA teams.
  • Comfortable navigating a multi-stakeholder environment, building consensus and making timely decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Leverages AI to build repeatable workflows to synthesize research, strategy, and execution and produce actionable outputs which drive decision making and accelerate product delivery.
  • Strong understanding of software development in at least two of the following areas: Cloud Based Infrastructure, API/Backend Services, Data Platform/Data Science.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a distributed work environment.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with a wide range of personal lines and commercial lines insurance products and configurations.
  • Experience with data science modeling and machine learning practices.

Salary: $210,000 to $280,000*

*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Our aim is to offer a competitive and equitable compensation package that reflects the candidate's expertise and contributions to our organization.

  • Location: We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. For most positions, occasional travel may be requested or encouraged but is not required. Some positions might require travel per the job description provided to the employee. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
  • Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
