You will join our Electrical Engineering Department. As our new Electrical Designer, you will be part of an electrical team that has grown into a cohesive and sought-after resource for our internal and external clients. While you will be assigned to your office of choice, you will engage and interact with electrical professionals from multiple locations, as well as engineers from multiple disciplines. This will be a true team environment!
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Creates Electrical designs in Revit
- Prepare Revit floor plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, etc.
- Prepare one-line diagrams with input from Engineers.
- Calculate electrical loads and develop panel schedules.
- Coordinate device locations, loads, and circuitry with other disciplines.
- Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans with input from Engineers.
- Prepare lighting calculations and energy code compliance calculations.
- Develop and maintain a general knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA Codes and other codes.
- Edit electrical specifications with input from Engineers.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in engineering technology, science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting, or other relevant technical curriculum and 3+ years of qualifying engineering experience in electrical design of municipal and industrial projects using Autodesk REVIT
- Proficient knowledge in Revit
- Autodesk Certification in Revit and/or ACC is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
- Some working knowledge of electrical design in the realm of commercial and industrial projects
- Experience with lighting design software Elumtools, AGI32 or similar software is a plus
