IT Application Design Lead

Are you passionate about creating visually stunning and user-friendly designs? Do you thrive in a dynamic and innovative environment? Red Bull is looking for an Application Design Lead to spearhead our design system and guidelines for enterprise applications.

As the Application Design Lead, you will be responsible for Red Bull's design system and design guidelines for enterprise applications. You will also shape and maintain our design processes and coordinating UX efforts in projects. You will guide and mentor fellow designers and team members, challenge the status quo, and identify ways to improve the overall user experience of our applications. You will also advise internal teams and stakeholders on user experience strategies and tasks. You will provide Art Direction for various user experience activities and identify trends in UX-related matters.

Strategic Ownership Of The Design System

You will be responsible for shaping the future of our design system and visual language. Presenting the system's mission, library, and processes to stakeholders is crucial, as well as providing theming and customization standards. You will also shape the technical tooling landscape for the design process, effectively bridging the gap between design and engineering.

UI Design Leadership For Digital Projects

In this role, you will ensure the quality of UI design in all aspects and steer our UI design process. Establishing a range of external design partners and consultants will be key to your success. You will provide UI expertise in projects you support and articulate your recommendations to stakeholders. Acting as the UX Lead on select projects will be part of your leadership responsibilities.

UX Project Support

In this role, you will lead and coordinate UX activities within selected IT projects, ensuring that user needs are central to every decision. You will manage UX services and vendors, including overseeing budgets to maximize efficiency and value. Working closely with IT Service Owners, you will help them understand user needs and identify opportunities for service enhancements. Collaboration will be key as you align UX concepts with user, technical, and business requirements alongside business and IT stakeholders.

Maturity And Awareness For UX

You will support the team in the continuous development of the UX function, advocating the UX team's mission, methods, and processes. Increasing visibility and awareness for UX and its potentials is essential. Your role will ensure a high level of maturity in the digital design process.

Consulting Visual Design Activities

Providing recommendations for visual and digital design activities will be part of your consulting responsibilities. You will support various design-related topics and act as a design consultant for your IT colleagues.

Artificial Intelligence And Design

You will set the vision and strategy for AI-powered user experiences, identifying where AI can meaningfully improve workflows, decision-making, and customer engagement. By evolving and scaling the enterprise design system with AI-specific patterns, components, and interaction models, you will ensure consistency and adaptability across products. Additionally, you will harness the power of AI to enhance the design process, leveraging generative tools, analytics, and automation to accelerate research, prototyping, and iteration.

Qualifications

Experienced UX professional with experience in developing digital products from start to finish

Relevant knowledge of state-of-the-art design processes, UX methods and tools

Programming experience an advantage

Solid understanding of building and maintaining design systems at scale

Strong conceptual thinking and problem solving skills - especially when creating prototypes at various levels of detail

Agile and flexible personality with the ability to iterate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and external partners.

Enjoy communicating and presenting with/to stakeholders to explore ideas with them and help them find better ways of doing things

Communicate effectively with users, designers, developers and business leaders

Additional Information

Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2,471 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
