Principal Designer

The fashion design and product development teams at our Penn brand are on a mission to redefine plus-size fashion by creating beautiful, trendy, and exceptionally well-fitted products that meet and exceed our customers' expectations.

We are looking for a talented Senior Fashion Designer to join our Penn team and help us shape the future of plus-size fashion. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Design and Technical Director to craft compelling concepts and work with fabric and design teams to ensure a smooth workflow. We are looking for a creative leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for fashion design, and the ability to inspire and guide a collaborative team to success. Exceptional creativity, a keen sense of leadership, and excellent teamwork are essential to thrive in this role.

From Concept:

  • Research and development of trend forecasts (clothing and accessories), micro-trends, and fabrics
  • Support in the preparation of trend forecast presentations and the creation of documents before trips
  • Support in the creation of concept presentations after trips (under the supervision of the creative director)
  • Support in the creation of key outfits and their completion with accessories (ensuring they are adapted to our plus-size clientele)
  • Launch meeting: support in the preparation of the launch document and the creation of presentations with samples

Trends & Current Collection

  • Chase: propose new ideas and information on missing trends or upcoming capsules for the chase
  • Tracking future trends: collaborate with the coordinator and stylist to integrate upcoming trends into accessory photo shoots
  • Provide the merchandising team with constant information on new upcoming trends through newsletters

Product Development (Fabric Support)

  • Fabric Planning: work with the fabric department to obtain a first selection of key fabrics to support the concept
  • Pre-alignment of fabrics and coordination with the design team and organization of meetings with design and merchandising teams

Travels

  • Possibility of approximately 2 trips per year

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University degree (or college degree) in fashion design.
  • More than 8 years of relevant experience in fashion concept management and design.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships and influence others.
  • Excellent fashion sensitivity and talent for originality and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel to the United States (New York) twice a year.
