Your new role

The role:

To deliver an efficient design service that enables effective fabrication and construction of timber structural frames. To ensure that all working processes and practices are undertaken safely, efficiently and profitably and in accordance with the company's management systems and procedures.

The role is fully accountable for the delivery of a competent and efficient design service, in accordance with company standards, systems and procedures, ensuring effective performance for the business from the following areas:

  • Agreeing design programmes with design manager and delivering against these
  • Managing the production of fabrication and construction drawings and schedules
  • To report into the design manager with weekly updates on projects & progress
  • To work to an agreed programme

Duties:

The Design Technician will be responsible for their own projects and communication with other team demonstrating the values and culture of the company.

  • Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, building standards and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Completing drawings, specification and any other documentation to the required standards within previously agreed timescales.
  • Using the current software packages which include AutoCAD & Consultec software
  • Be prepared develop software skills by further training as required
  • Be able to work on a broad variety of projects from small housing to medium sized commercial projects.
  • Ensuring all drawings and specifications are checked for accuracy and approved before issue.
  • Liaise directly with the Client as requested by the Design Manager or when necessary, noting all relevant conversations and passing this information to the relevant person/file within the Company.
