As Senior Scientist Drug Product Design within our CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing and Control) formulation laboratory, you'll drive the design and development of solid dosage forms from lab to industrial scale. Our Drug Product Design (DPD) department is a Center of Excellence within Sanofi R&D, specializing in orally administered synthetic molecules. We lead formulation development across all stages — from preclinical to commercial — ensuring seamless transfer from pilot clinical batches to industrial production and regulatory submission. Main responsibilities:

• Design and optimize oral formulations from preclinical through regulatory filling, including manufacturing processes from laboratory to industrial scale.
• Lead, supervise or conduct laboratory trials, planning, execution and interpretation of results with high scientific rigor.
• Write and supervise internal and external study documents (protocols, electronic workbooks, scientific and transfer reports)
• Contribute to scale-up transfers to GMP operations and Manufacturing & Supply.
• Manage cross-functional teams of formulation technicians and collaborate effectively with CMC partners (Biopharmacy, Process Engineering, GMP Manufacturing, Analytics and Chemistry teams) to ensure project success.
• Drive predictive modelling and advanced data analysis (DoE, statistics) to optimize development processes.
• Develop innovative automation solutions and support implementation of IA tools within the department.

About you

Experience:

• Approximately 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical development, with expertise in solid oral dosage forms and associated technologies and equipment.
• Experience in technology transfer in clinical or industrial manufacturing.

Technical skills:

• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulation and excipients, pharmaceutical engineering, process scale-up and optimization.
• Knowledge of fundamental biopharmaceutical principles.
• Good knowledge of predictive modeling and data analysis; familiarity with simulation tools.

Soft skills and know-how:

• Focused on results with strong organizational skills and strong interest in science.
• Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Team-oriented, dynamic and proactive with problem solving skills
• Simplification abilities and affinity for IA tools implementation

Education: PhD, PharmD or Master's degree, with specialization in formulation

Languages: Fluent in French, written and spoken English

The salary range for this position is :€48 000,00 - €64 000

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
