CAD Designer

CAD Designer with 5+ years of drafting experience and strong AutoCAD skills. This role goes beyond typical drafting — we need someone who can help us integrate Excel-based calculation tools with AutoCAD to eliminate repetitive work and reduce errors.

Required:

• 5+ years of professional CAD drafting experience (MEP, electrical, or utility projects preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with strong knowledge of XREFs, dynamic blocks, sheet sets, and data linking.
• Hands-on experience with Excel formulas, VBA, or similar tools to build structured calculation sheets.
• Experience or strong interest in CAD automation (AutoLISP, Dynamo, Python for CAD, or AI-assisted CAD tools).
• Familiarity with electrical system drawings is a plus (single-line diagrams, grounding, layouts).
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drafting & Design: Produce electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and detail drawings in AutoCAD with precision and adherence to company standards.
• Excel–CAD Integration: Develop workflows to pull calculation results from Excel directly into CAD drawings, replacing manual copy-paste processes.
• Database Development: Build and maintain structured databases of components (modules, inverters, transformers, blocks, title sheets, etc.) that can be dynamically referenced in CAD.
• Automation: Create user-friendly Excel input sheets where minimal site parameters can automatically generate SLDs, elevation drawings, and other project deliverables.
• Process Improvement: Standardize CAD blocks, XREFs, and templates into a scalable system that reduces drafting time and errors.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers to translate design criteria and system parameters into automated drawing outputs.

Salary Range:

$70k - $75k+
