Power Distribution Designer Opportunity
We have an exciting 6-month contract-to-direct opportunity for a Power Distribution Designer in Sharonville, OH (Cincinnati area). This role offers the chance to enter the fast-growing utility industry and gain hands-on experience with distribution power projects for residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Pay & Benefits:
- $26/hr while on contract (time-and-a-half OT available)
- $45K–$70K+ once direct, with potential for advancement
- Flexible schedule: M–F, 8–5 with some work-from-home options after training
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and update power distribution drawings using proprietary CAD software
- Prepare job packages, including material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, and construction drawings
- Perform engineering calculations and apply safety codes to designs
- Collaborate with fielding teams, construction crews, and clients to resolve project issues
- Support both overhead and underground distribution projects
- Evaluate distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely project delivery
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience
- Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD or similar)
- Interest in building a career in the utility industry
- Electrical background preferred
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with a valid driver's license
