Mechanical Designer / Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Design Engineer with strong mechanical design experience and proficiency in SolidWorks to join a team focused on high voltage switch products for the power industry. This role involves creating and updating detailed drawings, preparing bills of material, and supporting the fabrication of specialized mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed part and equipment drawings, layouts, and sketches for engineering and fabrication purposes.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Review and process production orders.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and structural calculations related to design work.
• Update existing drawings as needed, investigating technical impacts of design changes.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience with SolidWorks OR BSME/BSMET in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong mechanical understanding and hands-on design capability.
• SolidWorks proficiency is required.
• Internship experience or certifications in SolidWorks preferred if degree-holding.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience with mechanical design of components for electrical equipment is a plus.
• Candidates with practical experience, whether or not they hold a degree, are highly valued.
• Local candidates are preferred to ensure better retention and collaboration.

This team designs and manufactures high voltage disconnect switches for power industry clients.
