Entry-Level Engineer Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level engineer to begin a career in the utility industry as a Distribution Designer I. This role provides the chance to learn the industry from the ground up while designing safe, cost-effective, and reliable power distribution facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare project and job packages, including material lists, estimates, and construction drawings
• Perform drafting work and assist in creating designs, plans, and reports
• Evaluate distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and construction specifications
• Apply codes, safety policies, and utility construction practices in all work
• Coordinate with construction personnel and clients to resolve project issues
• Gain exposure to storm duty work (once hired direct)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
• CAD experience
• Valid driver's license
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship available)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Details & Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $25/hr starting, with potential increase to $28/hr after 6 months upon conversion
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (40 hrs/week)
• Overtime: Minimal, paid at time and a half
• Assignment: 6 months contract-to-direct hire
• Travel: Minimal; occasional local field visits, storm work possible after conversion
• Work Attire: Casual
• Work From Home: Allowed on fielding days only
