Selectek is seeking an entry-level Distribution Designer role for one of our partnering companies near Cincinnati, Ohio. Candidates in this role will learn to draft and design complex projects ensuring they are safe, cost effective and reliable distribution power facilities for residential, commercial and industrial sites.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or associates in engineering with 2 plus years of experience. Interest in a career in the Utility industry.
In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.
Job Duties Include:
Prepare project and job packages that include material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, site drawings and construction drawings for various installations of electrical facilities in a cost-effective manner that maximizes safety and service reliability. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, change orders, improvement plans, construction specifications, procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc. Perform drafting work and assist in the preparation of designs, plans and reports. Make accurate engineering calculations. Organize and analyze field data and prepare accurate and detailed reports and records. Learn, practice, and promote ALL safety policies and procedures 100% of the time. Apply various codes, requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures to all assigned work to create safe and cost-effective designs for projects of moderate complexity for both overhead and underground projects. Use various design software and work management tools. Evaluate distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing. Follow utility construction practices on public right of way (ROW) and private land. Regularly communicate job status to assure client expectations and deliverable dates are met. Coordinate with construction personnel and clients to resolve any project issues. Develop relationships with key internal and external customers while supporting both company and client's business goals and expectations while representing themselves both positively and professionally.
