Electrical Cad Designer – Oil & Gas / Industrial

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Cad Designer to join our client's team and support a variety of oil & gas and industrial projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex electrical systems for terminals, substations, and related facilities that support major energy clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong AutoCAD skills, knowledge of electrical distribution systems, and familiarity with industry codes and standards. While AutoCAD Electrical experience is highly preferred, candidates with solid AutoCAD expertise will also be considered. Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and design electrical systems for oil & gas facilities, including substations, switchgears, generators, unit pumps, boosters, tankage, and more.
• Develop sections and elevations from plan layouts and maintain proper links in schematic diagrams.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical (preferred) to set up projects, generate reports, extract/insert data, and streamline project workflows.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 70, NEC (240, 250, 392, Chapter 3), and API RP 500.
• Apply knowledge of hazardous area classification in facility layouts.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance when needed.
• Deliver accurate time estimates and support task planning.
• Incorporate client-specific standards into designs independently.

Required Qualifications:

• Certificate in Drafting or Associate's degree (or equivalent relevant experience).
• 2+ years of drafting and design experience for oil & gas or other industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with electrical industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with field wiring, power distribution, cable trays, conduit details, and hazardous area classifications.
