Low Voltage Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Low Voltage Systems Engineer to generate engineering drawings and specifications for low-voltage telecommunications, security, and audio-visual systems for a variety of construction projects. Project types include multiple building uses and system applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design low-voltage systems and prepare engineering drawings and narratives for construction projects
• Develop designs for:
  • Access control systems
  • CCTV systems
  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
  • Audio/visual systems
• Plan and design secure facilities, including developing and reviewing protective design standards
• Produce building design packages using Autodesk Revit
• Generate project-specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
• Provide construction phase support, including:
  • Responding to RFIs
  • Reviewing submittals
  • Conducting field assessments

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Minimum of 2 years of experience designing facility and low-voltage systems and documenting designs with drawings and narratives
• Working knowledge of applicable telecommunications codes and standards
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university preferred
  • Extensive experience in systems installation or maintaining computer networks or other technical systems may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree
• Experience designing:
  • Access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems
  • Copper and fiber optic structured cabling systems
  • Audio/visual systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (BICSI)
• Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) in audio-visual systems design (AVIXA)
• Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects
