Mechanical Designer
Pay Range: $25 – 27/hr
Summary: The focus of the role will be creating shop drawings for switchgear applications. Will make changes to existing core drawings so products can meet clients' needs by customizing the equipment. In doing so, will ensure the drawings are clean and help with the creation of the Bill of Materials.
Job Duties:
- Prepare detail drawings / layouts and sketches of parts and equipment used by Transmission Switch Product Division for engineering and fabrication purposes.
- Prepare Bills of Material for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Review and process orders for production.
- Make electrical, mechanical and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.
- Initiates changes as assigned by Senior Designer or Application Engineer in existing drawings after investigating technical effects of such changes.
- Erecting of switch products for testing purposes.
- Process orders, drawings usually associated with Engineering Services.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of mechanical design experience using Solidworks, OR BSME/BSMET in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with Solidworks
- Strong mechanical understanding
