Mechanical Solidworks Designer

$45 – 50/hr, dependent on experience

Ensure system design is compatible and capable of meeting requirements.

Design flight-worthy structures and electromechanical systems, conduct tolerance, stress, and thermal analyses, conduct trade studies, and ensure designs are suited for manufacturability.

Interpret design requirements.

Design structural and electromechanical systems meeting requirements.

Create solid models and drawings of components and assemblies.

Conduct tolerance, stress, and thermal analyses.

Conduct trade studies.

Demonstrate design-for-manufacturability.

Provide guidance to design team members.

Provide input and/or develop schedules and statements of work.

Technical writing including the generation of engineering reports ready for submission to regulatory authorities.

Experience with new design, or working for an OEM

Detailed knowledge of configuration management

Detailed knowledge of generating drawings for new design - assembly tolerance stack-up, drawing notes, detail drawings versus assembly drawings, understanding PDM/Vault

Knowledge of best practices for good CAD modeling

Knowledge of how to select materials and fasteners (MMPDS)

Knowledge of joint types (shear versus tension)

Previous experience developing, testing or supporting aircraft systems is HIGHLY preferred

CSWP Certification (Certified Solidworks Professional)
