Sales Executive Petroleum Products & Renewable Energy

SGS has an impressive diversity of services. The Natural Resources division specializes in the inspection and quality control of chemicals, liquefied gases, and petroleum products.

Function Description

As a Sales Executive, you will work in the port of Antwerp within a driven team. As a commercial relationship builder, you know how to convince customers like no other, convey our value to the client, and be the face of SGS.

A selection of your responsibilities:

  • You will proactively search for potential customers in the market (hunting) and open the right doors.
  • You maintain existing customer relationships (farming) in collaboration with the customer service department.
  • You conduct regular price negotiations.
  • Thanks to your experience and sales skills, you identify the needs of the client and turn them into sales opportunities.
  • You actively contribute to a strategic development plan and conduct market analyses together with the sales team across borders.
  • You are responsible for the implementation of new projects/new contracts within our organization.
  • You participate in sector-related conferences in the country and abroad.

Function Requirements

  • You have obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree and preferably have relevant work experience in the chemical industry, petroleum sector, or logistics.
  • Experience in the inspection or lab sector is a great added value.
  • You are commercially hearted. Through your creativity, you see opportunities and know how to capitalize on them by working driven and proactively.
  • Independence, flexibility, and motivation are your main assets.
  • You are a positive and mature person who combines empathy with diplomacy.
  • You are not discouraged by setbacks and through your strong communication skills, you can negotiate at a high level as a professional.
  • You are skilled in making persuasive sales presentations. Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
  • A very good knowledge of Dutch and English is necessary. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus. You are willing to stay abroad occasionally.
