Brand And Channel Strategy Leader

This role is responsible for Brand and Channel strategy in IWD North America. Our brands are marketed to cabinet, furniture, architectural millwork, and other wood OEM shops both directly and in partnership with external distributors throughout the U.S. and Canada. This role requires an experienced marketing leader with a broad set of customer-facing and project execution skills who can help accelerate growth, market share, and profitability.

Additional Details:

  • This position will require 25% travel.
  • This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113.

Responsibilities

Lead Brands' Strategic Planning, Voice of Customer, and New Product Ideation Efforts

  • Document and present brand plans that establish brand mission, key objectives, internal and external assessments, product roadmaps, channel strategy and initiatives, and digital and other brand communication strategies.
  • Drive research and voice of customer initiatives to gather key market and competitive landscape insights.
  • Work in partnership with Sales, Product Management, MarCom, and R&D to gather internal insights and ensure proper awareness of and alignment to brand plans.
  • Lead regular business updates documenting current results, key initiative progress reports, and market updates/insights.
  • Establish and own annual marketing budgets and spending accountability.

Drive Execution of Brands' Key Initiatives in Collaboration with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Marketing Communications Teams

  • Develop new product business cases (owning Stage Gate 1) and launch plans (owning Stage Gate 4 & 5) for distribution product development programs. Work with Product team to keep projects on track through Stage Gates 2 and 3 and with MarCom to execute Stage 4 launch activities for direct product development programs.
  • Document annual brand communications plans and drive execution through MarCom team.
  • Lead decisions on make-up of marketing merchandise program, mobile showrooms, loyalty programs, and other key support programs. MarCom will execute.

Drive Channel Marketing Excellence for IWD Brands

  • Distributor Engagement & Support
  • Serve as a Marketing lead for key distributor discussions, including annual business plans and quarterly check-ins, to drive new launches and other key programs while sharing/collecting key market insights.
  • Lead the development and communication of a Distributor Scorecard that evaluates our operational performance and our distributors' alignment to key strategic metrics.
  • Partnering with MarCom team, provide necessary information and templates to distributors for creating distributor-specific marketing literature, adding new SKUs, and driving end user conversion activities.
  • New Location and Distributor Growth
    • Partnering with Sales, identify best markets and partners for additional location expansion, as well as investment requirements, incremental sales opportunities, and timelines.
    • Collaborate with Sales and MarCom to execute onboarding of new distribution partners and/or locations. Includes launch support programming and other distributor requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time as required by the position, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing or other business concentration
  • Must have at least ten (10) years of business development, marketing management, product management, or distribution channel sales experience with a successful track record of driving sales and profitability growth, particularly with national marketing programs sold through external channels
  • Must have experience developing insights and relationships with external distribution partners and sales force
  • Must have experience executing strategic growth initiatives, including new product innovation and distribution expansion
  • Must have experience participating or leading a customer loyalty program desired
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to obtain a passport
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an MBA
  • Have experience with B2B Sales
