Our transmission line engineering group has an opportunity for a Civil/Structural EIT for our Burnaby, BC office. This opportunity is available to university graduates and EITs (Engineer in Training). You will work on several power line projects under the guidance of a Transmission Line Engineer or Designer in a dynamic, vibrant, and collaborative team environment. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow your career as Transmission Line Engineer or Designer.
Job requirements will include assisting the transmission line team with engineering and design services of overhead power transmission line projects and deliverables.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including spreadsheets.
- Good communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to effectively communicate project issues with the project team.
- Strong interest in developing new skills and career advancement.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting software.
- Familiarity with overhead power line (either transmission or distribution) design and drafting will be an asset.
- Any work experience within utilities, EPC service providers, or consulting organizations will be an asset.
- Experience with GIS mapping is an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Civil/Structural Engineering degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum one year of related utility design experience, preferably within the power utility space, is required.
Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 65,300.00 - Max Salary $ 91,400.00
