Mechanical / Piping 3D Designer

Stantec is looking for a Mechanical / Piping 3D Designer with expertise in Oil & Gas, Power, Food, Industrial Plant Projects based in the Pune, India office. The Mechanical / Piping Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review the input received from clients and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
  • Preparation of Equipment modeling, Piping modeling, 3D Plant Layout, General arrangement drawings, Pipe support etc.
  • Good understanding of Pipe fittings, components, and Pipe materials
  • Proficient in drawings extraction for Isometric and layout drawings
  • Knowledge of P&ID and PFDS for Piping routine / modeling
  • To be able to understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards implement in work.
  • Coordination with other disciplines designers and engineers as applicable.
  • Coordinate with discipline Lead concerning project requirements.
  • Candidate should be able to visualize and produce clash free 3D model using Navisworks (and similar software tools)
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Able to provide input into projects with minimal supervision. Can prioritize work based on project schedule.

Person Specifications:

  • B.E / B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; or I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.
  • For B.E / B. Tech 2 - 5 years' experience.
  • For Diploma 3 - 5 years' experience. If I.T.I. 5 + years' experience.
  • Mechanical / Piping CAD Design experience on Oil & Gas, Power, Refinery, Food & Beverages, Industrial process plants/projects.
  • 3D Modelling and design experience using Piping & Mechanical Software applications.
  • Autodesk Plant 3D is must.
  • Autodesk Revit would be an added advantage.
  • AutoCAD - AVEVA E3D
  • Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering in a Plant 3D environment.
  • Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering using Common Data Environments like Autodesk ACC/BIM 360.
  • Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering using Autodesk Navisworks Manager.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes and Standards, Pipe fittings and materials.
  • Knowledge on Pipe specs creation and admin part in Plant 3D will be an added advantage.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Should be a good team player.
  • Fully competent in all conventional areas of subject matter or functional area.
  • Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
  • Good knowledge of other engineering disciplines needs and interfaces.
  • Advanced CAD software skills in support of design.
  • Full understanding and support in the development of CAD standards and procedures.
  • Full knowledge of specialist areas of the BIM 360 process for project delivery.
