Senior Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Evaluate, select, specify, and design Water/Wastewater Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems. Design and deliver electrical, I&C systems for water and wastewater collection, treatment and pumping stations. Conduct I&C engineering and analyses related to various water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities. Prepare reports, studies, specifications, drawings, and design electrical components and engineering documents. Prepare and revise documentation in various phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, schematics, and details. Complete field reviews of designs under construction and prepare construction review documentation. Conduct project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.

40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). The salary is $162,011 - $227,600 per year.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 8 years of experience with the following: Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, process automation systems within the Water/Wastewater Industry; Design of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Designing electrical components and control system networks utilizing communication protocols, including Ethernet, Modbus or Process Field Bus (PROFIBUS); and Using the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) construction management platform. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week. Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 20%. Travel to various international locations required up to 5%. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
