Senior Lighting Designer

Your opportunity Buildings Specialty Lighting practice is expanding and looking for a Senior Lighting Designer to join our growing team. The main purpose of this position is to support the growth of Stantec's Lighting Design practice. You will be the advocate of the practice both internally within Stantec and externally to clients and professional organizations within the region. You will be familiar with the local market and the project pipeline that feeds the region. You will typically lead or support positioning and proposal efforts, depending on the scale and complexity of the opportunities. In addition to your regional focus, you will collaborate with our broader team of 20+ dedicated lighting specialists that support our US and Canadian Buildings multidisciplinary practice. Stantec's Lighting Design team offers talented professionals the opportunity to transform visions into designs that illuminate some of the most impressive buildings in the world. The candidate would be responsible for internal business development, project management, and leading all lighting design aspects of projects. This includes the development of design solutions, coordination with the design team, owner, and supporting staff, overseeing luminaire selection, lighting controls, energy code compliance, documentation, details, construction administration, budgeting, and fee management.

Your key responsibilities will include project involvement, business development/marketing, and learning/maintaining and expanding technical skills. Your capabilities and credentials should include professional experience specific to lighting design and control systems in a variety of projects including, but not limited to, commercial office spaces, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, multifamily residential, hospitality, performance venues, airports, and transportation. You should also have familiarity with BIM applications such as Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Navisworks, and be able to apply best practices of appropriate content for lighting drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details), calculations, lighting controls, and specifications.

Education and experience requirements include a bachelor's degree in a related design field or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 8-years of related work experience, business development, leadership, financial management, and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred auxiliary qualifications include professional IALD or IES membership, LEED or WELL accredited professional, and Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) or Lighting Certified (LC).

Pay Range: Locations outside of Lower Mainland - BC & various locations in Ontario-$83,100.00 - $124,700.00 Annually Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$88,100.00 - $132,200.00 Annually Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
