Stantec is currently looking to add a Structural Designer to support our Energy group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and interest in the field of civil/structural engineering. This position applies knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields, with specific emphasis in dams and hydraulic structures. The candidate must have familiarity with common methods for structural analysis and design of structures using relevant codes and standards. Applicant must be capable of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients, and be willing to learn from peers and supervisors.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and excellent computer skills. The position also requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, report preparation, and the ability to work with engineering staff at all levels. Ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering calculations and analyses related to medium to large concrete/hydraulic structures associated with dams, tunnels and hydroelectric facilities. Experience with excel and/or MATHCAD programs. Will be based out of the Bellevue area but requires willingness to work in a virtual team across offices and occasional project travel. Strong willingness to be a part of a large global engineering company, and to work with teams in other offices around the world.
B.S. in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural engineering, Master's degree with emphasis in structural engineering preferred. 0-5 years' experience in the design and implementation of large infrastructure. Preferred Experience: structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures and familiarity with the relevant codes and guidelines. Preferred Software Experience: finite element software such as SAP2000.
Pay Range: Locations in WA, DC & Various CA areas - Min Salary $77,600.00 - Max Salary $108,700.00.
