Our eCommerce team is shaping the future of Staples' digital experience—showcasing our value to customers through mobile, desktop, and app platforms. As part of a dynamic, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment, you will partner cross-functionally across sales, merchandising, finance, logistics, and technology to deliver a world-class digital experience. If you're excited to drive meaningful impact, influence the direction of digital products, and help build the next generation of our eCommerce ecosystem, this role is for you.

The Product Manager plays a critical role in shaping the future of our eCommerce platforms. This individual is responsible for leveraging customer insights, analytics, and market trends to define and prioritize product backlogs, ensuring our mobile, desktop, and app platforms deliver exceptional digital experiences. This role collaborates closely with engineering teams to bring innovative products and solutions to market, driving growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with leadership to define the product vision and align it with overarching business and digital strategy.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing user stories, bugs, and tasks using customer value, business goals, and team capacity as guiding factors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between development teams and business stakeholders.
  • Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to support engineering execution.
  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, and research to shape product strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management—from concept to development, launch, optimization, and iteration.
  • Foster continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and new approaches to solve customer problems.
  • Partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders to enhance product capabilities and stay ahead of digital trends.
  • Lead change by advocating for user-centered design and agile product development practices.

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Agile, adaptable, and proactive in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and prioritization based on customer needs and business objectives.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced digital environments.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities, including supporting the growth of junior team members.
  • Ability to build relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how digital products impact customer engagement, conversion, and retention.

What's Needed – Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience in product management, specifically within eCommerce or digital product environments.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products, from conception through launch and iteration.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with a strong bias toward data-based decision-making.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies, tools, and systems.

What's Needed – Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certifications such as CSM, SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, or AIPMM Product Management credentials.
  • Experience in B2B, supply chain, or office-products industry verticals.

We Offer:

  • Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups
  • 22 days of PTO and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays + 1 floating holiday)
  • Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more!
