Director, Growth Strategy
The Director, Growth Strategy facing role that leads, owns and manages the initiatives to drive profitability at SYGMA. The role will partner with finance, trade management, merchandising, to deliver the annual sales growth plan and deliver best in class customer experience.
This position is responsible for building strategic relationships with C-Suite level executives, delivering short- and long-term sales plans, and leading joint business planning. Other activities include P&L management, profitable volume growth, execution of corporate strategic imperatives and cross functional alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to drive profitability improvement projects across all customers and SYGMA geographies
- Responsible for sales, gross profit and DM plan for multiple customers or segments
- Owns all aspects of projects, to deliver approved business functionality to Sysco.
- Partner with Finance and all functions to implement project business to prioritize spend across workstreams
- Coordinates the development of analytical materials to be shared internally during SYGMA leadership meetings and reviews
- Develops and drives a portfolio of strategy and profit improvement initiatives with multi-year view of projects to align with SYGMA LRP
- Partner with Sales and Logistics to create the Value proposition to gain more freight and logistics revenue
- Develop relationships with GSC supply chain team to quickly identify and execute on growth opportunities, and align with customer needs
- Continue to leverage GSC Sales finance relationships to utilize tools and best practices for contract customers and integrate into SYGMA operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business is required with an emphasis on Finance or Analytics. Masters degree preferred.
- 7-10 years' experience required in project management.
- 3 years supervisory or management experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with peers and leadership
- Strong oral and written communication skills, able to clearly engage with SYGMA and Sysco leadership, colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other business contacts
- Ability to perform well under high-pressure situations
- Proven analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet management
- Strategic and innovative mindset
- Confident leadership skills, including team management and conflict resolution
- Skilled at establishing rapport, building trust, and maintaining cooperative working relationships
- Excellent attention to detail with strong follow-up abilities
- Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently
