Product Owner (gn) - Finance/SAP

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner (gn) with expertise in the finance/accounting sector. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of our products in the finance area, including the SAP financial modules. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and our finance department to gather requirements and prioritize features. To perform the role and its tasks accordingly, please understand that we can only consider profiles that have German language skills at a minimum C1 level.

The position is to be filled in Hamburg, either hybrid or remote.

Your Mission

• You will work closely with your finance business stakeholders to identify their challenges and requirements, and prioritize them accordingly.
• You will manage communication with all relevant stakeholders and act as the central communication hub to ensure that all parties are synchronized and achieve the best possible results through open and transparent exchange.
• You will have experience in the SAP environment, which will allow you to be a sparring partner for the finance business stakeholders in realizing process improvements and efficiency gains within and outside of SAP.
• Your knowledge of SAP S4/Hana (Public Cloud), especially finance-relevant modules, will enable you to successfully scope requirements and define the necessary configurations in the system – typically you will manage an external service provider, but you also master independent implementations in the system.
• You will create and manage tickets based on requirements from different departments, supplemented by your initiative to meet the needs of the team, and take over the prioritization and coordination for SAP implementations with our service provider.
• In this context, you will also navigate the internal finance development team through the business requirements that we implement through our internal services and with solutions outside of SAP, and together with the team transform technical requirements into stories and epics.
• You will support the definition of incidents and change requests and break them down into actionable steps to ensure continuous progress.
• You will be responsible for the maintenance and management of product backlogs and identify dependencies to support effective release planning.
• You will manage the implementation of the requirements and take over project ownership for finance-related topics to drive solutions and features to completion across team-wide issues.

Your Profile

• You have substantial professional experience as a Product Owner and/or Project Manager (gn) in an agile environment.
• You have proven success in the introduction and management of products in the finance/accounting sector and understand the technical requirements.
• You are proficient in the SAP system (preferably S4/Hana, Public Cloud) and have experience in the conception and configuration of financial modules.
• Your interest in delving into complex IT topics demonstrates your technical understanding and commitment.
• You consider yourself an essential part of the development team and act as a driving force within the team.
• With your expertise in Confluence, Jira, or similar systems, you promote an efficient and structured project environment.
• Your moderation and assertiveness make you the engine of the team.
• You bring high self-motivation, coupled with a structured and goal-oriented working style.
• You enjoy working in a dynamic environment with a lot of scope for creativity and a high speed of implementation.
• You have fluent German and English language skills in both speech and writing.
