Trillium is seeking a Mid-level Piping Designer in Vancouver, WA!

This direct-hire opportunity is a chance to do more than drafting -you'll take ownership of challenging design projects in the heavy industrial sector, supporting every phase from proposal through execution.

As a Mid-level Piping Designer, you'll be the piping lead on projects, coordinating across disciplines, driving 3D model reviews, and producing high-quality deliverables for clients in the oil, gas, liquid propane, chemical, and petrochemical industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer who enjoys blending technical expertise with client interaction - and wants to make a real impact on complex retrofit and engineering projects.

In this role, you'll step beyond basic drafting and take ownership of impactful project work. Your day-to-day will include:

• Developing piping layouts, plans, and detailed designs using advanced 3D modeling software (CADWorx preferred; Revit and Plant 3D also considered).
• Taking the lead in multidisciplinary 3D model reviews with clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with project goals.
• Producing construction-ready drawing sets and technical specifications.
• Reviewing P&IDs, documenting existing site conditions, and capturing the details of equipment, valves, supports, and related structures.
• Partnering across engineering teams, project managers, and clients to solve complex design challenges and deliver exceptional results.

Schedule is Mondays & Fridays – remote (work from home), Tuesday through Thursday – on-site at the Vancouver, WA office. Pay rate is $50.00 - $60.00 per hour DOE, and how your skill set applies to our needed applications!

We are seeking candidates with expertise in the following areas:

• Hands-on experience in heavy industrial piping design/drafting, with a strong emphasis on retrofit projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, Microsoft Word, and Excel; NavisWorks is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites and perform field verification when needed.
• Ability to maintain compliance and safety standards while conducting site work.
• TWIC credential required (or ability to secure one).
• Prior consulting or client-facing project experience is highly valued.
• Candidates with background experience in Fertilizer/Nitrogenating, Boilers–Chemical Refinery Process with downstream processes, and Annealer systems are highly desirable!
• Experience with Faro Sphere Laser Scanning or comparable technologies is a strong plus.
• Associate's degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
