Join us in making a difference

Every month, over 120 million travelers come to trivago to find their perfect hotel at the best price. Behind that experience sits a product organization obsessed with building things that matter – for users and for the business. We believe great product thinking means understanding both sides of that equation.

We're looking for a Product Management Intern with a sharp commercial and analytical mind to join our team working on the product levers that drive user retention and revenue like loyalty mechanics, pricing strategies, deal optimization, and how we communicate value to users.

You'll partner directly with a Senior Product Manager, getting hands-on with business cases, sizing opportunities, running the numbers, and helping shape features that drive real monetization impact – while keeping the user experience front and center.

If you're the kind of person who gets excited about building a financial model just as much as sketching a user flow, read on.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Experimentation: Contribute to the experimentation cycle – help formulate hypotheses, support test design, and analyze results alongside Product Analytics and Data Science
  • Commercial Analysis: Dig into the numbers behind retention initiatives, as well as monetization levers. Develop an understanding of what drives conversion, margin, and lifetime value – and where the trade-offs sit
  • Product Discovery: Use structured frameworks to identify and validate opportunities worth pursuing – balancing user needs with business viability
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Product Analytics, Data Science, UX, User Research, and Engineering to see how initiatives move from insight to shipped product
  • Metrics & Trade-Off Thinking: Learn how success metrics are defined for features and experiments. Start developing a feel for when improving one metric comes at the cost of another, and how product teams navigate those decisions
  • Business Case Support: With guidance from a Senior PM, help build business cases for new initiatives – learn to size opportunities, model revenue scenarios, and stress-test assumptions with real data

What you'll need to thrive:

  • Commercial curiosity: You're drawn to how businesses make money. You're comfortable in spreadsheets, enjoy working with numbers, and are eager to learn how to build financial models and size opportunities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking: You don't take the first answer at face value. You like digging into data, questioning assumptions, and following the logic to find the real answer
  • Technical curiosity: You don't need to write code, but you're interested in how products are built and want to have meaningful conversations with engineers and data teams
  • Drive and persistence: You're proactive, follow through on things, and aren't afraid to ask tough questions or push through ambiguity to get to an answer
  • Interest in product design and UX: You appreciate that the best monetization feels seamless to the user – and you want to learn how to get that balance right
  • Clear communication: You can explain your thinking simply and clearly, whether you're talking to a technical or non-technical audience
  • Background in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, consulting or a related quantitative field
  • Fluent in English
  • Availability for a full-time, 6 months internship with valid authorization to work in Germany

Stand out with:

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Exposure to A/B testing, statistical significance, or experimentation frameworks
  • Familiarity with subscription, loyalty, or marketplace business models
  • Previous internship or project experience in product management, consulting, or business analysis

Not ticking every box? We still want to hear from you. Apply, tell us what motivates you, and you could be a great match—now or in the future.

This is the recruitment process that you can expect for this role (subject to modifications):

  • One-way video introduction
  • Technical interview with team + case study voice over
  • Interview with stakeholders
