Deliver impactful change with our defence sector digital clients, working alongside senior leaders encompassing the full breadth of the military services.

Turner & Townsend's Digital Delivery (Defence) team are seeking project professionals, with recent defence experience, and relevant certifications and or experience in one or more of the Product & Delivery Roles defined in the UK Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) framework.

This role is specifically for a Product Manager – who is responsible for product quality and value, working with the team to identify, implement and improve strategies and tactics for their products. They might recruit and manage people in the product profession, ensuring people with the right skills are hired, supported and developed.

This can be an entry-level role for new product managers who have been working in other digital roles.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Defence Sector Experience: Recent experience in the Defence industry (public or private sector) supporting change initiatives, with awareness of the strategic context surrounding the digital change outlined in the 2025 Strategic Defence Review.
  • DDaT Specialist Role Competency: Proven capability supporting digital change and a Confident practitioner in one or more of the DDaT-defined delivery roles listed above (level 3 - 4).
  • Full Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Strong understanding of a complete digital delivery and project management lifecycle, including bidding, project initiation, delivery, and close-out.
  • Agile Delivery Experience: Ability to integrate rapidly into high-performing teams, assume suitable Agile roles, and support successful digital transformation projects—navigating ambiguity and complexity, engaging senior stakeholders, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Willingness to travel to UK client sites as required. Turner & Townsend supports hybrid working arrangements, agreed in line with commission needs prior to each commission you begin.

Desirable:

  • Experience working directly with or in Defence Digital or one or more of the military commands, with the willingness and ability to act as a future relationship manager—building networks, supporting key client leads, shaping bids and supporting resource deployment.
  • Project Management Qualifications: Eg: APM PMQ, Agile or Scrum with hands-on project management experience (full lifecycle) and the flexibility to adapt between traditional and iterative methodologies.
  • Systems Modelling & Architecture: Experience in model-based systems engineering and data architecture (including frameworks such as TOGAF and NAF), with the ability to apply these approaches in delivery projects.
  • Data Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with data and analytics platforms and software, such as those on Palantir or with the Google Cloud platform.

Important: Before applying, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Many of the clients and projects we support are subject to MoD security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

Working in Teams/Office & Site attendance:

Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of helping its employees harmonise their work and home life by offering hybrid working, that enable them to balance their working life with other priorities. At the same time T&T recognises that employee office and site attendance must always remain in line with the demands of the business and clients. Currently, we anticipate you being on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices 60% of your time which may include travel, but this may flex depending on client and business requirements. The office is not the only place work gets done, but it is increasingly important for teams to be stronger together by learning, collaborating, and creating amazing work together.
