Job Overview And Responsibilities

The UX Designer will be a cornerstone of the CoreUX IKC design team, specifically tasked with evolving our design language. This role goes beyond standard layouts; you will be responsible for maturing our Design System to ensure scalability and consistency across United's digital ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between high-level aesthetics and technical implementation by mastering design architecture and exploring the future of AI-driven prototyping.

• Design System Maturity: Architect and maintain a world-class design system. You will define and manage design tokens and variables (color, typography, spacing, etc.) to ensure a seamless handoff between design and engineering.

• Advanced Prototyping: Lead the team in AI-powered prototyping workflows. Use Figma's advanced features and AI integrations to create high-fidelity, logic-driven simulations.

• Ecosystem Integration: Manage the integration between Figma, Mac-based workflows, and Cloud environments to ensure assets are synced, version-controlled, and accessible across global teams.

• User-Centric Architecture: Transform unmet user needs into successful product launches for united.com and the United app using a systems-thinking approach.

• Research & Analytics: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research. Use data to validate how design system changes impact overall usability and business metrics.

• Accessibility Excellence: Ensure all system components meet WCAG accessibility standards from the token level up to the final UI.

• Collaborative Strategy: Work closely with developers to ensure the technical feasibility of the design system and its successful implementation in code.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

• Design System Expert: Proven experience creating and scaling complex design systems, specifically using Variables and Tokens to manage multi-platform themes.

• Tech Stack Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Figma (including advanced prototyping, auto-layout, and components) and experience with Cloud-based design management.

• AI Innovation: Hands-on experience using AI tools and plugins within Figma to speed up workflows, generate content, or create smart prototypes.

• 3+ Years of Industry Experience: A portfolio that showcases not just "final screens," but the underlying systems, workflows, and sketches that powered them.

• Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of responsive design patterns and how design decisions translate into CSS/code.

• Communication: Ability to clearly articulate the ROI of a mature design system to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Legal: Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship.
