Do you have a strong visual understanding and work from idea to finished product, creating cohesive graphic solutions across platforms and formats? If you also have a passion for working with communication, culture, and natural science, then you might be the candidate we are looking for as a graphic designer at Statens Naturhistoriske Museum. About the position, Statens Naturhistoriske Museum is facing the opening of a new museum building in Botanisk Have – the largest museum project in recent Danish history. In this context, visual identity, design, and branding play a central role in meeting the museum's many target groups. You will be part of the museum's communication team, where we work with communication, marketing, web, design, and branding. The team is characterized by collaboration, flexibility, and a shared ambition to strengthen the knowledge of the museum and its activities. As a graphic designer, you will be responsible for both creative development and execution of the museum's visual expression. An important part of the job is to ensure a cohesive and recognizable design throughout the entire user journey and across platforms – tailored to target groups, messages, and channels. The museum's vision is to strengthen the connection between people and nature. You therefore have an interest in nature and natural science and are motivated to translate knowledge and communication into strong visual stories for a broad public.

Your responsibilities will range widely and include:

  • Ensuring a cohesive visual expression across digital and physical touchpoints
  • Production of graphic material for marketing campaigns, including posters, flyers, advertisements, outdoor elements, and digital formats
  • Visual contribution to exhibitions and other audience-oriented activities
  • Preparation of graphic material for fundraising, project presentations, teaching materials, signage, and merchandise
  • Collaboration with the museum's marketing responsible for campaigns and launches
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

You thrive in a day-to-day environment with both large and small tasks and solve them at the same high professional level. About you, we envision that you:

  • Are educated in brand design
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with production of graphic material
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with development of graphic concepts and visual solutions
  • Are a proficient user of Adobe Creative Cloud – especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Have experience with Magento and VisioSign
  • Have several years of experience from a museum or similar communication department
  • Have a strong design proficiency and can translate ideas into finished solutions
  • Work structured, carefully, and with an eye for detail
  • Have a focus on target groups and end product, and can balance this with internal needs
  • Are initiative-driven, independent, and maintain an overview in busy periods
  • Have experience managing deadlines, deliveries, and collaborating with suppliers
  • Have a solid understanding of museums' role in society and preferably concrete experience from a museum or similar cultural institution
  • Previous relevant experience from Statens Naturhistoriske Museum is seen as a clear advantage

Salary and employment terms are anchored in the museum's communication team, and you report to the deputy museum director for communication. Employment is according to the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Public Employees' Organizations - The State Area (OAO-S) and the organizational agreement for Graphic Workers at a number of Institutions (HK/stat). Employment is as a graphic designer. There will be an opportunity to negotiate additional allowances based on qualifications. The average weekly working hours are typically 37. We offer flexible working hours.
