Designer Specializing In Structured Washed Product

Anthropologie is seeking a designer specializing in structured washed product to help design and execute collections each season, ensuring it aligns with the seasonal theme and overarching aesthetic of the Anthropologie brand.

Role Responsibilities

Interprets seasonal fashion direction, identifies assortment opportunities, and translates emerging merchandise trends into actionable design concepts for the business area.

Leads the creation and execution of seasonal assortments, driving concept development from initial idea through finalization.

Owns the development and execution of trim packages, ensuring accuracy and completion of all technical callouts.

Creates and maintains detailed spec sheets for all bodies and styles; prepares comprehensive development packages and leads communication and follow-up for each style.

Clearly communicates fit intent and construction details to the Technical Design team to ensure product integrity and execution.

Prepares and presents materials for key seasonal milestone meetings, including Sketch Review, Sample Review, and Print & Color presentations.

Maintains strong awareness of current and emerging trends; proactively shares research, competitive insights, and inspiration with the team.

Monitors product development timelines, anticipates challenges, and implements timely solutions to minimize risks and delays.

Partners closely with Design and Buying teams to understand financial performance, leveraging insights to inform design decisions and production strategies.

Demonstrates accountability and leadership by representing the Design perspective in cross-functional meetings and effectively communicating key updates to leadership.

Collaborates cross-functionally to drive alignment on targets, approvals, execution, and final outcomes.

Embraces feedback with professionalism and agility, incorporating changes to strengthen product and team outcomes.

Builds and sustains positive, collaborative relationships while maintaining open and proactive communication with multi-level cross-functional partners.

Proactively identifies opportunities to contribute, offering support to teammates during critical periods or downtime.

Navigates complex discussions and resolves conflicts constructively to achieve alignment and results.

Takes full ownership of projects from concept through final execution and delivery.

Role Qualifications

Exhibits exceptional sketching ability, accurately and emotively illustrating design concepts with a strong sense of proportion and attention to detail.

Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims, as well as wash and dye treatments and techniques.

Communicates effectively and collaborates cross-functionally with partners in Design, Buying, Product Development, Technical Design, and Print/Color + Concept.

Highly proficient in hand sketching and digital design, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate.

Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to take initiative.

Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadline-driven projects while adapting to shifting priorities and frequent changes.

Possesses technical garment-making skills, including mocking, draping, and sewing.

Brings experience working with washed product categories, including denim and PFD (Prepared for Dye).

Demonstrates familiarity and knowledge of structured fabrications.

Typically has 4+ years of experience in an Associate Designer role.
