Terrain is growing and opening a new location in Wayland, MA! We are looking for a Design Services In-Home Artisan to join this team. Interested? Apply now! We will begin interviewing for this role in June.

In collaboration with the Design Manager, the Design Services In-Home Artisan creates container and garden design projects in-store, off-site, and in private residential settings. They uphold terrain's four promises: to welcome, to inspire, to inform and to appreciate our customer.

Role Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Exceed customer expectations by building genuine, long lasting relationships through personalized attention; make lasting impressions by upholding terrain standards on and off site
• Understands terrain concepts and partners with client to create a cohesive environment through compelling containers installations and garden design projects
• Exhibits an understanding of and interest in home and garden trends in art, style, color, and design; translates trends and customer needs into brand appropriate designs

Teamwork + Communication

• Takes initiative and works productively solo or within a team to achieve design goals; actively participates in daily meetings and shares relevant information regarding plant design projects
• Builds and maintains productive partnerships with members of the store and design team contributing to a culture of strong communication and teamwork; is open and responsive to feedback
• Communicates daily with the Design Manager on client consultations, design details, and project updates; manages client design file and ensures prompt customer communication with project inquiries

Visual + Business Operations

• Understands impact of seasonally driven business; prioritizes projects and monitors progress with timelines while staying within client budget
• Understands and applies design principles to execute projects with high level of craft; maintains cleanliness and organization of back of house display areas
• Adheres to store's safety standards, inventory accuracy, reduction of product loss, and upholds all company policy and procedures to support the profitability of the store

Role Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture and container design
• Art and design background
• Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
• Must be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the retail design business and off-site design projects

Pay Range

USD $22.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
