Responsible for managing short-term and long-term sales, transportation and storage for new and existing customer accounts as part of the commercial team for the KM Texas Intrastate Pipelines.
Manage a portfolio of natural gas sales, transportation and storage customers served by the KM Texas Intrastate asset base, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring consistent, transparent communication regarding operational updates, contract performance, nominations and invoice accuracy.
Understand and negotiate contractual terms, including renewals, for various types of agreements including NAESBs, Transaction Confirmations, Interconnect Agreements and Transportation/Storage Agreements.
Ensure contracts negotiated are structured to meet operational needs and financial targets.
Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate timely issue resolutions.
Leverage customer relationships and establish new relationships to identify and pursue new marketing and transportation opportunities.
Interface between Engineering, Operations and Gas Control to coordinate and execute outage plans resulting from pipeline integrity testing.
Communicate effectively with individuals and groups using a high level of proficiency in verbal, written and listening skills.
Communicate effectively and regularly with Management on issues, goals and objectives.
Seek opportunities for system expansions and oversee process from inception to completion including estimate request, financial modeling, commercial structure, proposal preparation and contract negotiation. Work with Project Management throughout project to ensure successful execution.
Exhibit aptitude with financial analysis and models, including proficiency in working with various financial spreadsheets, budgeting/forecasting, NPV, capital valuation, internal rates of returns, etc.
Understand market dynamics relative to customer requirements.
Contribute to an effective team environment including offering assistance and knowledge to others in the group regarding technical/operating issues such as pipeline integrity testing.
Complete special projects and annual and monthly objectives as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or closely related discipline.
An MBA is not required but is a valuable plus.
Experience/Specific Knowledge: Minimum of 3 years' experience in the natural gas pipeline business (5+ years required for Manager level). Texas Intrastate gas pipeline/market area experience is a plus. Financial background experience is a plus.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks at one time. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a strong focus on commercial performance and strategic growth. Ability to work as a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention to detail, follow work rules, and adhere to required work schedules. Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the purpose of word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and analysis, and financial modeling. Must be able to clearly present ideas, proposals and results to business segment leaders and customers.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of general pipeline operations standards, practices and procedures. Understanding of various methods of pipeline integrity assessments and their impact to customers served off the Texas Intrastate system(s). Knowledge and understanding of KM pipeline hydraulics, meter stations, measurement equipment, chromatographs and separation equipment. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) would be advantageous.
Working Conditions: Mostly office work; hybrid work schedule. Extended work hours in cases of deadlines or extreme weather events. Occasional travel is required to effectively support customer and industry relations.
