Please include a Cover Letter (state your preference for face-to-face or online teaching as well as the program you are interested in teaching for), a current Curriculum Vitae, and a list of names and contact information for three professional references. When applying for part-time adjunct faculty, you are submitting your application to the School of Construction and Design (on-ground or online) adjunct faculty pool. We will accept applications on a continuing basis. There may or may not be a hiring need at this time in your area of interest. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).
Job Summary
The School of Construction and Design at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications to establish a pool of qualified applicants for current and future part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments (online and/or face-to-face). Successful applicants may teach up to six semester credit hours (2 courses per semester) of undergraduate courses in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering Technology, or Interior Design online or face-to-face on our Hattiesburg, MS campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Teach assigned undergraduate courses, including:
Preparing course syllabus, lectures, assignments, and other course components as necessary.
Using Canvas to manage the course.
Utilizing effective teaching methods to ensure that all course outcomes are met.
Timely evaluation of student work with constructive feedback, and assignment of grades.
Being available to students for Q&A.
Submission of course assessments to the Program Coordinator for accreditation purposes.
