Position: Adjunct Professor, Interior Design

Department: Academic Affairs

Type of Position: Adjunct Faculty

Exemption Status: Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, varies hours per week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: Yes

Starting Salary Range: AJCR $1,208-$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary: The selected candidate will teach 1-9 credit hours per semester in the Interior Design department. The selected candidate will teach ITMD prefixed course that fulfill the requirements for our AAS degree. The degree includes three built-in certificates depending on the course path chosen by the student. Possible courses available are: Chief Architect software and Interior Design 1, Material and Resources, Practices and Procedures, Interior Design III. This position would start in Fall 2026. Dates and times vary but typically occurring during workday hours.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of an associate's degree and 5 years of industry experience.

Demonstrated ability to be a lifelong learner, particularly in the area of Interior Design.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work well in a team setting.

Ability to work independently.

Ability and knowledge of software used in interior design.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.

Ability and desire to teach a variety of courses that could include any of the ITMD prefixed courses.

Ability to use Adobe products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.

Interior Design certification in any of the following areas: NCIDQ, AKBD, LEED or other related professional certification.

Affiliation with Interior Design organization such as but not limited to: ASID, IIDA, IDEC, NKBA
