The Finance Manager for Alexa Marketing will be responsible for providing financial oversight, analysis, and strategic guidance for the company's marketing investments. This role partners closely with Alexa marketing leadership to optimize budget allocation, track performance metrics, and ensure marketing spend delivers maximum return on investment.
Develop and manage comprehensive marketing budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis
Partner with marketing teams to build financial models that evaluate campaign effectiveness and ROI
Create monthly and quarterly financial reports analyzing marketing spend performance against KPIs
Lead the quarterly guidance and annual planning process for marketing investments, including scenario planning
Identify opportunities to optimize marketing spend allocation based on performance data
Establish financial controls and approval processes for marketing expenditures
Collaborate with procurement to negotiate and manage vendor contracts
Support marketing leadership with ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic decision-making
Develop dashboards to visualize marketing spend effectiveness across channels
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience, with at least 2 years supporting marketing functions
Strong understanding of marketing metrics and attribution models
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning software
Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
Strong communication skills with ability to present complex financial information clearly
Experience with marketing analytics platforms and data visualization tools
Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Balances financial discipline with business growth objectives
Proactively identifies opportunities to improve marketing spend efficiency
Builds trusted advisor relationships with marketing partners
Translates complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences
Maintains accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
