Marine Corps Community Services Marketing Program Manager

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example to shape and sustain a working environment conducive to successful performance.
  • Planning, directing, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program for Marine Corps Community Services.
  • Developing and implementing integrated marketing plans and strategies for all business operations and social programs.
  • Planning and coordinating market research including demographics, surveys, focus groups, etc.
  • Carrying out public relations activities for individual divisions and other base organizations.
  • Planning and coordinating all advertising campaigns.
  • Responsible for the commercial sponsorship program.
  • Ensuring advertising is accomplished as required by Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) and/or sponsorship contractual obligations.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of MCCS Special Events and MCCS Area Coordinator Program, to include project management and budgeting.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and direct advisor to senior leaders in the organization for the assigned organizational division.
  • Planning, organizing work, and managing internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies.
  • Pursuing action to ensure follow-through on maximizing productivity and economies.
  • Overseeing preparation and approving internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercising authority on approved overall budget.
  • Analyzing programs on a regular basis and prompting initiation of corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS.
  • Overseeing management of new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements.
  • Developing long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives and exercising internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the Deputy AC/S, MCCS.
  • Directly or indirectly, supervising employees. Counseling and training employees, scheduling and directing work, appraising work performance. Approving or disapproving leave, and personnel actions.
  • Alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.
  • Effectively supporting the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensuring compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.
  • Overseeing maintenance and enforcement of the security of resources and developing procedures to minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.
  • Providing world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy.
  • Adhering to safety regulations and standards.
  • Promptly reporting any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
  • Adhering to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

  • Ten years of experience that demonstrates a broad knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of the marketing discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management required.
  • Five years of experience that demonstrates the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of a subordinate staff as well as experience managing marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience using a variety of digital marketing tools and strategies with an emphasis on creating and utilizing a variety of social media platforms.
  • Experience working with corporate/commercial sponsorship and partnerships preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and to write after action reports.
  • Ability to interpret DoD and USMC policies concerning sponsorship agreements and contracts.
  • Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
