Electrical Designer

Our Fort Worth, Texas (TX) office is looking for an Electrical Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Water/Wastewater team!

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the BIM Manager on projects and support the ongoing expansion of Kimley-Horn's Water/Wastewater practice
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Structural, and other internal disciplines on larger treatment and pump station projects to facilitate the use of tools like Revit and BIM to deliver multi-discipline projects
  • Establish and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows to streamline project coordination for multiple projects
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • Develop technical drawings and plans
  • Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
  • Maintain Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) database for projects
  • Will supervise and train Revit staff
  • Provide training and support to project teams on BIM tools and technologies
  • Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

15+ years of relevant experience in engineering design and support using BIM/CAD software

Strong design skills in Revit, AutoCAD Civil3D and other Autodesk products

Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings

Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn

Ability to work independently and with a team

Willingness to mentor and teach others

Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
