Develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for power distribution systems, including switchgear lineups, lighting layouts, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.
Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management, organization, and future scalability.
Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents, select appropriate protective devices, and ensure system safety and reliability.
Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards.
Ensure all electrical designs strictly adhere to pertinent local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
Apply established electrical design techniques, such as load flow analysis and fault current calculations, and exercise discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed.
Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team electrical design standards and industry best practices.
Work with other Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
Foster collaboration, communication, strategy, and support within your team, multidisciplinary groups (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.), and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency, quality, and resource use.
Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design
Experience with industrial projects or similar, such as data centers and oil & gas
Ability to produce power distribution schematics and panel schedules
Proficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams and creating construction documents
A.A. or degree in engineering or architecture preferred
Proficiency in Revit, ETAP, and EasyPower is a plus
Experience with semiconductor or tool install projects
Work Environment
The role requires working 5 days on-site with a start time between 6AM to 7AM, offering flexibility. You will work 40 to 50 hours per week with eligibility for overtime. The position reports to the Section Manager, and you will be part of a team of about 50 employees on-site.
