Immunology Marketing Intern

We're seeking an entrepreneurial MBA or graduate student to explore AI-powered solutions that address real commercial challenges in specialty pharma. You'll work at the intersection of marketing, strategy, and AI - building proof-of-concept prototypes using Microsoft Copilot, evaluating vendor platforms, and helping the organization determine the right path forward for AI implementation at both brand and enterprise levels. This isn't a traditional marketing internship - you'll be part strategist, part builder, shaping how we operationalize AI in the commercial domain.

Working closely with our commercial cross functional teams, you'll design, prototype, and deploy one or more AI engines using Microsoft Copilot Studio and related tools. Example projects include:

  • Competitive Intelligence Engine - Build an automated system that monitors competitor pipeline updates, label changes, launches, congress presentations, and HCP sentiment, then generates weekly strategic briefings for the brand team
  • Modular Content Generation Tool - Create a Copilot workflow that generates MLR/PRC-ready first drafts of HCP emails, sales aid copy, and congress materials anchored to pre-approved claims, with full claim traceability for faster regulatory review
  • MLR Pre-Submission Reviewer - Design an AI pre-flight checker that scans marketing content before it hits medical/legal/regulatory review, flagging unsupported claims, missing references, promotional tone risks, and off-label language

The specific use case will be determined collaboratively based on business priorities and your interests. Your work will range from building internal POCs to piloting vendor solutions, with the goal of delivering actionable recommendations on how to operationalize AI - whether through a single brand deployment or an enterprise-wide platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build proof-of-concept AI tools using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and other platforms to validate use cases and demonstrate value
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews with marketing, operations, and regulatory teams to define use case requirements and success metrics
  • Develop prompt engineering strategies and workflows that ensure AI outputs are compliant, accurate, and aligned with brand strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot, test, and refine AI tools based on user feedback and business impact
  • Evaluate AI vendor platforms and solutions, conduct demos, assess capabilities, and provide build-vs-buy recommendations tailored to our pharma compliance and workflow requirements
  • Document workflows, create implementation roadmaps, and present final recommendations to senior leadership on the optimal approach for scaling - including whether to deploy at the brand level or pursue an enterprise solution

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program or graduate degree (Marketing, Business Analytics, Health Administration, or related field)
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) - you've built something with AI before, even if informally
  • Strong interest in pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare strategy, or commercial operations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and building solutions from scratch
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Copilot Studio), prompt engineering, or pharma regulatory requirements

What You'll Gain:

  • Real ownership of a strategic initiative - your POCs, vendor assessments, and recommendations will directly shape the organization's AI roadmap
  • Hands-on experience building POCs, evaluating AI vendors, and making strategic build-vs-buy decisions in a regulated industry
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical commercial strategy, marketing operations, and regulatory compliance
  • Mentorship from senior marketing and medical affairs leaders
  • A portfolio-ready case study demonstrating AI implementation in a complex, high-stakes environment

Working Conditions: hybrid role; 3 days/week onsite

The expected base pay range for this position is $22K - $28K. The offered rate of pay will vary according to the candidate's current degree program and level of study.
