This is an opportunity to join the Enterprise Platform (EP) - Digital Banking Services team within American Express. Join us, if you have the talent and desire to create the vision for innovative Banking Products and Services. As a Product Manager, you will join a team that develops and delivers new American Express Digital Banking Products for Consumers and Small Businesses: checking accounts, personal savings and debit cards. This new group is nimble and creative, with the power to shape our product vision, strategy and roadmap for American Express Banking Products. We are a hard-working, fun-loving team that delivers exciting next generation capabilities for banking products and benefits to our customers.

As a Product Manager in Digital Banking you will play the role of a Product Owner in an agile/SAFE set up and leads a scrum team responsible for the development and deployment of Core Banking Capabilities and/or APIs. The successful individual ensures that the Product meets the evolving needs of the enterprise through continual innovation, evaluation and deployment. Requires strong organizational, and detail technical knowledge of API's. Must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. Coordinates the efforts of a scrum team within a SAFE train to deploy the new features across markets and products.

The Product Manager has responsibility for working key features/user stories with the scrum team and working directly with the Senior Product Manager who owns the prioritization and roadmap.

Banking Domain knowledge specific to Core banking, money movement and banking customer role management and access

Partners with vendor and internal Product Managers, Product Owners, New Product Development, Business Partners and Architects to help assure strategy, vision and road map alignment and execution.

Manages priority with the vendor team and ensure use of tools and processes across SAFE and followed

Collaborates with Delivery Managers (DMs), Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and TPMs to identify and coordinate cross-platforms dependencies

Manages external relationships, e.g. product partners or technology vendors on behalf of Technology organization.

Detail understanding and practice in SAFE agile framework

Previous experience with large/global programs and/or portfolios

Communicates and build consensus across disciplines in crafting the product roadmap

Work with leadership to define and articulate a long-term product strategy and roadmap with clearly defined business metrics and targets

Support development of appropriate tracking and reporting to track product performance post launch in order to evaluate future investment

Produce return on investment analyses and optimization recommendations

Identify risks, challenges, opportunities and business integration needs

Enable cross-functional collaboration with relevant teams within the product scope

Translates product roadmap into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria

Leads and mentors associate product managers

In conjunction with Director, supports the creation of a Product Backlog for a specific product

Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog consistent with the Outcomes and Product Roadmap and performs story elaboration with the implementation team

Partner with the design and technology teams to develop, test and deliver the defined capabilities and rapidly iterate new solutions.

Ensures all solutioning is clear between Amex and the vendor

Works closely with analytics and uses internal data tools to understand measure success and impact to critical metrics

Reviews and accepts completed user stories

Reviews/demonstrates sprint-related or general functionality with external partners and customers, including the Director of Product Management and other colleagues

Coordinates communications and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product backlog

5 years of experience in Product Management with proven track record in defining winning product constructs and delivering a product vision and strategy. Experience with rapid and iterative software development methodologies

Proven track record managing large, complex products with multiple partners

Bachelor's Degree in related field required; advanced degree preferred

Digital Banking experience is a plus

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
