Marketing Proposal Specialist III

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Marketing Proposal Specialist III to join our West Specialist Team and work in collaboration with the West Region business development and operations team on pursuits, including partnering in the preparation of formal and informal client solicitations, including requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), pre-qualification efforts, and client interviews.
This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office that can be based in, but not limited to: Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Los Angeles/Orange, CA; and San Francisco/Oakland, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Leads medium- to large-scale proposals and presentations, supporting all stages from capture through interview, with additional support as needed.
- Partners with capture managers to develop win strategies from early capture activities through interview preparation.
- Develops annotated outlines and content plans, advising technical teams on optimal section structures and messaging.
- May serve as lead writer and editor for tailored resumes, past performance sections, executive summaries, and/or management approaches for proposals.
- Facilitates color reviews (Pink and Red team), quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals.
- Manages revisions to proposals and presentations based on direction from review teams.
- Contributes recommendations during go/no-go and greenlight analyses, ensuring compliance with delegation of authority, capture planning, and positioning requirements.
- Completes internal debriefs for proposals they lead, leveraging past pursuit debrief information. Supports team during win/loss debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.
- May support marketing or pursuits strategy and content development related to clients/markets, marketing communications, campaigns, account managers (CAMs) and business lines.
- Provides coaching and guidance to entry-level proposal team members.
- Performs thorough self-checks of all work prior to submitting for review or approval.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree + 4 years of experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.
- Strong working knowledge of InDesign as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation writing and production.
- Demonstrates excellent writing and editing skills, consistently applying strong attention to detail and a drive for continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.
- Experience demonstrating leadership qualities.
- Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, guide deliverable efforts by others, and manage documents and deadlines effectively.
- Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry. Knowledge of AECOM's projects, people, credentials, and competitors is a plus.
- Working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- An understanding of CRM Salesforce experience is a plus.

- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $70000 to $110000.
